Nicole Latchana
Writer
Nicole Latchana is a playwright working across solo projects and community-led collaborations. Her work blends political urgency with personal storytelling, often exploring marginalised experiences through a queer lens. She is drawn to stories that interrogate how systems shape our inner lives, and she seeks to subvert traditional genres and narrative forms to reflect that complexity.
Her play A PRACTICAL GUIDE ON HOW TO SAVE THE WORLD WHEN NO ONE F**ING ELSE IS* (Tara Theatre, April 2025) had a sold-out run and received a five-star review. Other commissions include LANDING BOLTS (Fio Theatre), CHOKING HAZARD (45 North), and DOUGH (Bush Theatre, Sonia Friedman).
Nicole is a recipient of a DYCP grant, currently exploring her ancestral history—specifically Chinese and Indian indentured labour in the Caribbean. She trained on 4Screenwriting, the Royal Court Writers' Group, and holds an MA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media from Central. With over a decade of experience making work in community settings (The Dot Collective, London Bubble Theatre, Southwark Council), her practice is rooted in collaboration, care, and accessibility. Nicole is committed to making emotionally resonant, politically sharp, and structurally bold work that reflects the messiness and beauty of underrepresented lives.
Her plays have been on at several theatres including The Arcola and Southwark Playhouse, and she won M6 Theatre's Love in the Time of Corona competition with her monologue 'Millie's Mum'. She continues to work with The Dot Collective, London Bubble Theatre and Southwark Council on community theatre projects.
